Keeping Guatemala’s Mayan languages alive

In the diverse country of Guatemala, indigenous Mayan languages are
under threat. Today, only around 34,000 Guatemalans speak Poptí, one of
the country’s 22 Mayan languages. “There continues to be a perception
that Poptí is no longer useful,” says Andrés Ediberto Esteban Domingo, an
instructor at the Guatemala Academy of Mayan Languages. But thanks to
Huawei, he’s bringing new technology to his fight to preserve Poptí.
